I actually had to read a couple of reviews and summaries of the preceeding books in order to fill in the gaps of events in the series: it's been about a year since I read book 4 of the series.
The story is as good as ever. The amazing thing is how the writer manages to make YA characters as bloody and ruthless as their Grimdark counterparts, all the while adding hints of the erratic behaviour of your average teenager. It's a fascinating blend.
Events also move along at a quick pace, just like the previous books. For that, I really must commend the author. It isn't easy to maintain the pace of such a series as this that started with a really big bang. And it's even more difficult to maintain the pace over 4 books.
I eagerly await the next book.
