I'm a systems admin who adopts too many dogs and writes in my spare time.
What book did you enter SPFBO with, and is it your debut?
River of Thieves, and it's my debut in Self-Publishing.
Tell us a few things about it. What should the Judge you'll be allocated to, expect from it?
It's a comic fantasy about a group of thieves trying to steal the heart of a kingdom in order to punish a tyrant, and the fallout. The Judge should expect profanity, silliness, and general bad behavior.
You'll compete against 299 other books. Do you believe your book will stand out against the competition, and if yes, why?
Depends on the judge, I suppose. If it does, because it's fun and funny, and has some heart.
WHERE DID YOU HIDE THE MONEY!??!?!
You'll have to look in Rek's underwear.
Why did you decide to enter SPFBO in the first place?
It's the first book I completed under my own power, and I'm proud of it, flaws and all.
Are you working on a book right now? What should we expect from you next?
I am working on the sequel. In addition, I just finished line edits for another book, a sort of gothic Indiana Jones/Mike Mignola inspired mashup due in October 2020.
Anything else you would like to add? A message to the other contestants, the Judges, or Mark Lawrence himself?
Hey, thanks for donating your time and energy. If not for things like this, indie authors would struggle more than necessary.
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
If you hit it with an arrow, zero.
Editor’s Note: Thanks for participating in this, Clayton! We at booknest.eu wish you luck in the competition and any future endeavors.
