The Final Reckoning is the third and final book in Chris Bishops Shadow of the Raven series. I've absolutely loved following Matthew's journey and despite it being the last book and the ending to the story, it really was an interesting conclusion and overall fantastic series to follow.
A writer called Ben Mears returns to 'Salem's Lot to write a new novel and maybe bury a fear that continues to haunt him 20 years on. But Salem's lot has an ancient evil that is strongly linked with the spine chilling Marsten House. That evil is about to wreak havoc on 'Salem's Lot. Now I've never actually read a Stephen King novel. Although I didn't know what to expect, I had really high standards considering its Stephen King. And so here's my thoughts on Salem's Lot.
Silverlegs is the first installment in Camilla Monks Seed of Rage Series. It's a book heavily influenced by Ancient Rome with a deep Grimdark twist to it. We follow our MC Constanter, a girl who escapes a life of abuse and misery, only to find herself in an army of mercenaries that has a similar attitude towards women. Her only way to survive is to pretend to be a man and hope that nobody finds out about her secret.
This was the first Grimdark book I've read for quite a while. I must admit, it was the perfect book after the recent reading slump I've had. Anyway, here's my thoughts on Silverlegs .

Dragonslayer is the first book in a new trilogy by Duncan M. Hamilton. It's also the first book I've read by Hamilton. Based in a land where dragons are long forgotten and haven't been seen for centuries. That is until a dragon is spotted terrorising the countryside. The man called up to deal the issue is Guillot Villerauvais, a famous warrior who now spends his time drinking himself to death. Can he become the hero he once was.

The Spider is the second book in Leo Carew's Under the Northern Sky series. The spider picks up exactly where The Wolf ended. The book is split into three parts, The North, The South and Lundunceaster, all following the Black Lords plans to invade the south and Bellamus' plans to wipe out the Anakim. If invading the south wasn't enough, The Black Lord has to deal with an assassination at the Anakim School to the North. on top of this, Roper has to convince the giants of Unhierea to fight alongside the Anakim to finally obliterate the Southerners. So, no pressure.

Ioth, City of Lights is the latest instalment in D. P. Woolliscroft's Wildfire Cycle series. Despite there being 3 books released, Ioth is book 2 with Tales of Kingshold technically being book 1.5. I thoroughly enjoyed the previous two books but this book is in a league of its own. So here's my thoughts in a bit more detail.

Ivy Gamble is a private investigator whose usual gigs are catching out cheating husbands or insurance frauds. She's good at what she does and enjoys what she does but that's all about to change. The headmaster of the school her sister teaches at has an offer she cannot refuse. A murder case. But this isn't any ordinary high school. it's a high school for mages. But unlike her sister, Ivy is just an ordinary person with absolutely no powers whatsoever and has always lived in her sisters shadow. This is her chance to prove herself.

"What if you were destined to be a villain?"
Master of Sorrows is the first in The Silent Gods series and an absolute sensational début novel. Early on in this book I was reminded why I love reading and specifically the fantasy genre. So here's everything I loved about Justin Call's Master of Sorrows.
Sowing is the first book in The Purification Era series by Angie Grigaliunas. Although its labelled as YA, I would put it down as more of a Grimdark-ish fantasy. Its definitely more adult that YA. Set in a dystopian world on the brink of war, we follow two sisters who are completely different from each other. One is a rebel and the other is the perfect civilian, well perfect according to the power obsessed Hulcondans.

“This world is full of one blood-feud or another, an endless cycle.”
A Time of Blood is the second book in the phenomenal new series Of Blood and Bone by John Gwynne. I didn't think it was possible to get better than the Faithful and The Fallen but somehow John Gwynne has improved even more and gifted us readers with what is proving to be an absolute masterclass of a series.
