The third book of Magic 2.0 is more enjoyable than its predecessor, though still not as good as the first; its storyline succinctly encapsulated by the title of the book, An Unwelcome Quest.
Spell or High Water is a good follow-up to Off to Be the Wizard. Admittedly, a bit of the novelty factor from the first book did start to wear off and I find this volume to be weaker but the narrative retained its enjoyable comedic tone.
A delightfully charming story that is a unique blend of science fiction and fantasy, Off to Be the Wizard will satisfy geeks who secretly (or not-so-secretly) wish they can be a wizard. I personally found it brilliant in its simplicity and originality.
