I'm a fantasy and sci-fi author from North Carolina, US with a day job as an IT manager. I love reading and listening to stories that put me in others' shoes, and try to write stories that capture all the beautiful and foul things fantastic worlds have to offer.
What book did you enter SPFBO with, and is it your debut?
I'm entering Briz and Bayla: The Bronze Age Bounty Hunters! This is actually my fifth published book overall, and is the 3rd book in 3 years I've entered into the competition!
Tell us a few things about it. What should the Judge you'll be allocated to, expect from it?
Think the Boondock Saints meets Assassin's Creed with an adventurous tone similar to Indiana Jones. Book 1 of the Moving Targets series brings us the beginnings of immortal bounty hunters, Briz and Bayla. After Briz and Bayla meet, they combine efforts to carry out Bayla's revenge for her destroyed village and track Briz's bounty target while a mysterious reward will test their burgeoning trust. If they can overcome political plots and ancient powers by taking advantage of their complimentary skills of might and magic, they may earn a place amidst the legends of Egypt and beyond.
I think it might! This is a historical fantasy/alternate history set in the Bronze Age--a time period not used all that often, so we'll see!
Editor’s Note: That is rare to behold, and you can consider my interest piqued!
WHERE DID YOU HIDE THE MONEY!??!?!
In Dyrk Ashton's pants!
Editor’s Note: Gasp! Dyrk Ashton will be tried and tested with the full impunity of capitalist law!
Why did you decide to enter SPFBO in the first place?
Because the community is amazing and fun to be a part of! Whether it's the bloggers, other authors, or fellow readers, it's an absolute blast of a community to talk book stuff with!
Are you working on a book right now? What should we expect from you next?
Eulogy for the Dawn is set for a September launch! A mammoth epic fantasy that has Godknight, Domaren, desperately trying to find out why the creators he serves have gone silent.
Big thanks to Mark for launching this amazing competition, the bloggers for all their time and work, and best wishes to the competing authors!!
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
African or European?
Editor's Noote: Thanks for joining us! We wish you and the very best of luck in this year's competition and in any future endeavours!
