Hi, my name is Katerina and I am addicted to Bridgertons.

My Plain Jane (The Lady Janies, #2)
09, Jul

Rating: 3/5 stars

Genre: Young Adult, Retellings, Paranormal, Historical Fiction

Oh boy, this is going to be awkward.

Disclaimer: I loved My Lady Jane. Every time I think of this marvel of a book a huge grin takes over my face. And, partially, that's the reason I may be too harsh on My Plain Jane (well this and my slow but steady transformation to a judgy old lady that is too difficult to please). I really wanted to love it. I expected to love it. I'm afraid, though, that My Plain Jane was exactly what the title promised. Plain.

The Accidentals
06, Jul

Rating: 5/5 stars

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Romance, Music

Contentment: (n.) A feeling of quiet happiness and satisfaction.

The key word is quiet. It’s not the happiness that makes you scream until your lungs combust or tremble with the pent-up energy that has to be diffused by running and sharing this joy with the world. It’s the type of happiness that resembles those moments when you bask in the sun; listen to the melody of a violin; feel the wind rustle your hair. That’s the warm feeling that blossomed in my chest while I was reading The Accidentals.

War Storm (Red Queen, #4)

Rating: 3/5 stars

Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Dystopia, Science Fiction

- Contains spoilers about the previous books -

What do you expect from a book called War Storm?

Heart-pounding battles? Jaw-dropping showdowns? Mind-boggling alliance shifts? Devastating losses? I know I expected all those things, and some more. Sadly, that was not the case with the last instalment of the Red Queen series.
