When it comes to Science Fiction or Fantasy that has a literary aspect to it, I usually have to step back & ask myself the following question:

No Good Dragon Goes Unpunished (Heartstrikers #3)

This is such a fantastic series.  It gets more and more addictive with each installment.

Assassin's Fate (The Fitz and The Fool #3)

Here lies the end of my journey in The Realm of the Elderlings. Robin Hobb, if you’re reading this, thank you for saving your best work for the last installment.

Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries, #2)

An awesome sequel to All Systems Red, Artifical Condition pumps up the fun and action.

A Time of Dread (Of Blood and Bone #1)

“Sometimes the only answer is blood and steel.”

All Systems Red (The Murderbot Diaries, #1)
13, Apr

4/5 stars.

The introduction to The Murderbot Diaries is simply great fun!  A refreshing and diverting sci-fi novella with wide appeal, it is a marvellous package of wry humour, suspense and healthy dose of compassion.

Fool's Quest (The Fitz and The Fool #2)

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

The best middle book installment out of all series within The Realm of the Elderlings.

Spirit's End (The Legend of Eli Monpress, #5)

5/5 stars.

Easily one of the most addictive and fun fantasy series I’ve read in recent memory, the Legend of Eli Monpress concluded most satisfactorily, and now occupies my list of favourites.

The Spirit War (The Legend of Eli Monpress, #4)

5/5 stars.

A new favourite, The Spirit War is a fantastic penultimate volume of the Eli Monpress series, one which just keeps getting better.

The Poppy War

Rating: 5/5 stars

I have no doubt this will end up being the best fantasy debut of the year.
