Petros is the creator & owner of BookNest. He lives in Patrai, Greece, where he works as a betting agent.
In his free time you may find him reading books, watching TV, and participating in Roman orgies (not really).
He also has an infatuation with sloths that others might call unhealthy.
Conn Iggulden is one of the greatest Historical Fiction authors of our times. Apparently he's damn good at Fantasy as well.
I consider myself a professional reviewer. Definitely not the best (Jamie Tivendale might as well take this title), and most certainly not the most experienced (eg Robin Carter), but a good reviewer nonetheless. And yet, for the first time in my life, I can't review a book I've read.
The book in question, as the title and the cover would suggest, is Blackwing by Ed McDonald. Why, would you ask, can't I review it? Because even if I tried, I couldn't possibly do it justice. Blackwing is one of the greatest fantasy books I've read in my life. Perfect in every possible way. Ed McDonald is on a par with Joe Abercrombie and Brandon Sanderson. Cast aside whatever you're reading and start Blackwing instead. That's all I have to say.
Brimstone is a literary fantasy novel unlike any other fantasy books I have read so far, since it mostly reminds me a good horror story narrated in a cinematic way. No knights and mage in this one.
