A self-professed geek and proud of it, I started reading at a tender age and never really stopped until work got in the way for several years. I regained my voracious appetite for books a few years back and then started to enjoy writing down my thoughts. I am more of an emotional/instinctual rather than a critical reader.
Aside from reading, I enjoy outdoor sports (running, hiking, cycling, an occasional frisbee game), photography and travelling.
The denouement of the Malazan Book of the Fallen is so long that it had to be written over two enormous books. Dust of Dreams is the first act of this grand finale and it is glorious!
The Short Drop is great book, one which belies the fact that it was a debut from the author.
The third book of Magic 2.0 is more enjoyable than its predecessor, though still not as good as the first; its storyline succinctly encapsulated by the title of the book, An Unwelcome Quest.
