After finishing Skullsworn by Staveley, I decided to go through the Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne trilogy via audiobook and Simon Vance, once again, fails to disappoint, though after listening to him read The Black Prism by Brent Weeks, I kept thinking a Prism was going to bust out and start wreaking havoc. But alas, that never happened. No chromaturgy on this side of the fantasy spectrum.
First and foremost, buy this freaking book.

The Last Mortal Bond, the ending to Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne trilogy by Brian Staveley provides a great and fitting conclusion to the trilogy but at the same time it’s actually quite disappointing as the last book of the trilogy. This is a really hard book for me to review, there are a lot of factors I love and dislike at the same time. It’s in my opinion that out of the entire trilogy, this is the weakest installment. It’s still really good especially during the amazing climax scenes but sadly there are some parts that hindered the book from reaching its full potential. It will remain spoiler-free as always so you can read it and see for yourself if this trilogy is something that will work for you or not.
